Overall I am still feeling very prolific with this, but some of my biggest struggle is: Are these pieces truly inspired by the play, or by what’s going on around me? Both? Probably. My rather sudden emergence into Islamic writings, combined with my perennial study of Sufi poetry, Joseph Campbell (Ebay is evil) and other elements of late, are all working their way in. So I guess I’m saying I am enjoying the process.
While working on (one song) on 2/4/06, at 8:26 pm there was a lightning strike near our house in which I could see the blue light in the studio, followed very shortly after by a loud BOOM. I immediately did a “duck and cover” and my heart jumped out of my chest. The power stayed on, and no one was harmed.
