Pictured here is Bread and Puppet, an activist theatre troupe that performed at BU this week.
The performance was originally scheduled for the quad, but rain forced them into one of the worst performance spaces imaginable – a basketball court in the rec center. Though the acoustics were kinda nice for the instrumentation, giving a bombastic intensity to the bass and sax, any lyrics or dialog were barely understandable.
Still, it was a creative performance with zebras, cows, horses and many strange characters besides poking fun at recent political events and attempting to raise awareness of environmental issues. It seemed like many people enjoyed it, while others just had a blank stare – perhaps just there for the extra credit.
In web news, there is an updated Songwriting section and I’ve posted another installment to my PC Woes area.
